This is probably coming out a little bit out of left field. Pierce The Veil has been rocking in the Vans Warped Tour/AltPress portion of the music world since 2006. Definitely alternative, but more energetic and screamy/yelly than the mainstream might like. Personally I think the alt scene could use a bit more energy, and these guys might be about to bring it.

The reason THIS song is the one you should know is because this is a step forward into the middle of the alternative scene, while looking back at one of the greatest alternative sounds in the past 15 years.

Give "Circles" a listen, and you'll notice almost immediately that it sounds like it could be a direct descendant of Jimmy Eat World's self titled album. From the slow build up at the beginning of the song, to the point where it kicks into gear with a drop in guitar slide. The rhythm of the band during the verse, the way they lay the vocals on top of the track.

It's not Jimmy Eat World, but it could be a first or second cousin.

And go ahead and tell me that the chorus is about the most listenable, sing-alongable from a song you've heard in months. Because you'd be lying.

All in all, Pierce The Veil is a lot of what's fun and exciting in alternative. The energy, the fun they bring, the scene could use it. And hopefully with this song, they'll finally get the attention they deserve.
