Spartan Race already has a ton of races in the Tri-State area, and they're adding one more.

Spartan just opened registration for their brand new Spartan Sprint at West Point. This is in addition to their Sprint at Tuxedo Ridge, the Sprint at Citi Field, the Beast in Vernon NJ, and the Super that normally happens at the end of the year in Vernon. There is also a brand new winter race in March in upstate NY, and a supposed Long Island and Albany race that is rumored to happen next year. Along with all the other races in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New England.

That's a lot.

HOWEVER! The West Point race is brand new, and might be a little easier to get to. If you've never been around the Lake Frederick Recreation Area, it's not exactly the easiest terrain. There's plenty of hills and water to mess you up, like a Spartan Race is interested in doing. Tuxedo Ridge I know what to expect. Often times brutal runs up a ski slope, but I'm not sure what that area might bring.

Regardless, it's a new spot and that's exciting. You've got until August to train for it, so get started! Join a running ground, get some friends together, run up some hills and do a ton of burpees.

And don't wear cotton. Seriously, that's a terrible idea.
