Special Weather Statements Issued For the Hudson Valley

It's official. March has been a very temperamental, and somewhat annoying, month and that pattern of behavior is continuing today.

According to the National Weather Service, while we will eventually see temperatures in the mid-40's today, we aren't quite there yet, and that's causing an issue with some precipitation this morning.

A Special Weather Statement has been issued for parts of the Hudson Valley as we will see snow and sleet this morning. Eventually it will change over to rain, but not before it causes some slippery road conditions with precipitation amounts ranging from a coating to an inch of this slippery, slushy mix.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 2 this afternoon for Sullivan, Ulster, Greene, and Columbia counties.In these locations, you could see a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain with wind gusts up to 25 MPH.

Please be careful as you drive around this morning into early this afternoon, untreated surfaces will be slippery and different areas of the Hudson Valley will see varying amounts of accumulation. The good news is though, it won't last long as we expect some rain showers this afternoon and temperatures in the mid 40's.
