A major new film starring James Franco, Christian Slater, Alicia Silverstone and others has wrapped filming in the Hudson Valley. 'Red Dragon' tells the story of a murder in the early 2000s that rocked the porn industry.

Deadline reports the movie is based on a true story and was written and directed by Justin Kelly. Scenes from the movie were shot in Kingston, Saugerties, Warwick, Red Hook and Tivoli.

Christian Slater plays an adult film producer who finds porn's next big star, a man named Brent Corrigan. Slater's character then finds himself the target of a rival porn producer, played by Franco, who wants nothing more than to steal the promising actor for his own films. Franco's character is known for having a terrible temper and the murder in question is a result of the rivalry.

This is the third film shot in the area by this production team. Earlier in the year they wrapped filming on Jack Goes Home and My First Miracle.
