Streaming Star Wars Fans Have Been Waiting
Star Wars fans will finally be able to stream the movies. When and on what devices?

All six "Star Wars" films will be available for digital download this Friday, marking a first for the popular movie series. A digital release of the films was complicated by the ownership and distribution rights. Fox holds the distribution rights to all six films, but Disney owns the digital distribution rights to all but one. The joint agreement between Fox, Disney and Lucasfilm will give each company a split of the profits. All six films will be available in digital HD on Amazon, Google Play, iTunes and other downloading platforms.
One catch, these are not the original, un-altered films. They are the special edition re-releases which have changed bits of the music, and altered scenes to closer replicate George Lucas's "vision".
