State Police arrested a Columbia County man who was wanted on several warrants.

36-year-old Ian M. Smith, of Hudson was sentenced in to four years in prison on January 5, 2016. Smith was not present when sentenced and police say they couldn’t locate Smith for over two months.

On Wednesday, State Police arrested Smith on several charges. State Police along with the City of Hudson Police Department and The Greene County Sheriff’s Office were looking for Smith who was wanted on several warrants.

Information was developed by investigators that Smith was staying at the Pine View Garden Apartments in the Town of Athens. Troopers arrested him at that location without incident where he was allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs.

Smith was charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 4th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and 2nd-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.

Smith was arraigned at Town of Athens Court and committed to the Greene County Jail without no bail.
