The Port Authority is considering options in changing the name of Stewart Airport in Newburgh. The name change would include the location of the airport and the area it serves. The goal is to improve the identity of the airport that has long struggled to maintain the interest of airlines and fliers.

Ideas were being bounced around about the name change at Wednesday's Orange County Chamber of Commerce meeting, according to The Times Herald Record.

Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Director of Aviation Thomas Bosco told Mid-Hudson News that a name like New York-MidHudson Valley International Airport at Stewart Field or something else that reflect the airport's location and the area it serves.
