An investigation called “Operation DOPE” led to 29 suspects being charged, 13 that are still at large, in connection with drug sales in the Hudson Valley.
A Hudson Valley county leads the state in heroin overdose deaths, killing at a rate of 12.5 people of every 100,000, according to a report released by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.
Authorities took down a Hudson Valley heroin and oxycodone ring with 14 guilty pleas this week. The defendants plead guilty in a White Plains court on Tuesday for conspiring to distribute more than $ 1 million in heroin and oxycodone.
