New York rockers Taking Back Sunday will be releasing their seventh studio album Tidal Wave Sept. 16 via Hopeless Records. The band unveiled the video for the title track that you can watch above.

Guitarist John Nolan tells New York Newsday, "I'm very excited for people to hear it. I think it’s going to be a surprise to some people. We're all extremely excited about what we've done. It's the culmination of things we've tried over the past two records. I think it's the strongest record we've done since getting back together. We’ve freed ourselves up to go in new directions."

The album was recorded with longtime producer Mike Sapone in Charlotte, N.C., where Nolan and frontman Adam Lazzara reside. Lazzara says being in familiar surroundings helped them to be more adventurous: “It just helped everybody push harder,” he says. “I think some of the playing on this record is just the best we’ve ever done. There were times when Mark (O'Connell, drummer) was playing and I was thinking, ‘I don’t know how he’s physically doing that.’”

Taking Back Sunday are in the midst of the Taste of Chaos tour with Dashboard Confessional, Saosin and The Early November. They play Wednesday night (June 29) in Kansas City, Mo.

Pre-order bundles for Tidal Wave are available at this location. You can also pre-order it via iTunes.
