A teacher living in the Hudson Valley admitted she performed oral sex on a 14-year-old student on “multiple occasions and in multiple locations." She won't go to prison or lose her teaching license.

Dori Myers, 30, of Rockland County taught social studies at The New School for Leadership and the Arts in the Bronx. Myers, whose husband is a police officer in Rockland County, recently pleaded guilty to a criminal sex act, a felony, after she confessed she had oral sex with a 14-year-old boy.

Prosecutors hoped Myers would be sentenced to two years in prison and be forced to give up her New York state teaching certificate. However, as part of her plea deal, a judge promised she won't be sentenced to prison and will keep her teaching license, according to the New York Daily News.

In Jan., Myers appeared in court while wearing a red Marist sweatshirt.

The New York Post reports that according to her lawyer, Myers will be fired by the New York City Department of Education, but may teach in the future.

“There is a possibility that she could teach adults now or in the future and we want to preserve that possibility,” Defense lawyer Andrew Stol told the New York Post. “She still is a talented teacher and has those skills, and I don’t see any reason to destroy her ability to make a living and to contribute to society in a positive way.”

The social studies teacher confessed she had oral sex with a 14-year- old boy on “multiple occasions and in multiple locations," the New York Post reported.

According to her plea deal, Myers will be sentenced to 10 years probation and will have to register as a sex offender. She's scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 12.

In related news, on Monday, officials announced two Hudson Valley men who admitted to having oral sex with children, both received the maximum prison sentence allowed by law.
