A teenager was arrested in Kingston after police say he was in possession of a loaded gun. Officials say he was also found with drugs on him.

On Tuesday, while conducting a surveillance detail near Broadway and Elmendorf Street in the City of Kingston, detectives saw 19-year-old Anthony E. Jackson of Brooklyn walking in area of Broadway and VanBuren Street.

As authorities approached Jackson, he allegedly attempted to flee on foot. Police say he was quickly captured and after a brief struggle detained.

Jackson was found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber handgun and a large amount of marijuana.

Jackson was charged with 2nd-degre criminal possession of a weapon, 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, 4th-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies, 4th-degree criminal possession of marijuana, and resisting arrest, misdemeanors.

Jackson is being held at the Kingston Police Department pending his arrangement in Kingston City Court.
