Tuesday will mark the 17th anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers, Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93.

I think we all can remember where we were on that Tuesday morning. I remember it being a beautiful morning and heading into my 7th grade classes. It was during my art class when a secretary came in a read a memo to the class that there had been a terrorist attack in the city.

I'll never forget how I felt that day. I'll also never forget how we all came together as a country to mourn those we lost and to take pride in our country.

To honor those who serve and fight for our freedom and protect us every day on Hudson Valley business will be paying it forward.

The Derby Bar and Restaurant in Poughkeepsie, which recently re-opened, shared on Facebook that they will be serving a free buffet for first responders and those in the US Armed forces.

I don't think we say it enough, but to those who serve thank you and to those who lost their lives on that fateful Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, we will never forget.
