The End of American Idol

What began in 2002 and became a national phenomenon, is set to end at the conclusion of it's 15th season. Many will be be sad to see American Idol go, others not so much. 

FOX plans to pull the plug on the former juggernaut at the conclusion of the 2016 finale. The date has not yet been set but the 15th and final season will begin in January.

Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban will return as judges along with host Ryan Seacrest. As much as we'd like it to happen, Brian Dunkleman will not be returning as co-host, remember him from season one?

Ratings for the reality singing competition have been sinking in recent years, and instead of driving it into the ground, FOX plans to quit on the show while they're ahead.
