The Glorious Sons Deliver Cover of Kanye West's 'Runaway'

The Glorious Sons continue to garner attention and today they're mixing things up with a unique cover song. The JUNO-nominated rockers have recorded a cover of Kanye West's piano-centric song "Runaway"; watch the video above.

The band shot their performance at Fiction Studios in London, providing viewers with a stripped-down version of the song. The video is the first in what is expected to be a series of more stripped-down versions of songs released in the coming weeks.

Singer Brett Emmons reveals, "[Guitarist] Chris Koster is a gigantic Kanye fan and he's been covering the song for years. We played it in a church once together, and my voice just kind of worked with the song."

He adds, "I can remember listening to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and watching the short film all the time in university. It is, by far, my favorite Kanye album. I had never heard rap sound like that before. In my opinion, this album is one of the most important of the 21st century, and 'Runaway' is one of the most perfect pop songs ever written." For those interested, the song is now available via digital retailers.

The Glorious Sons will be promoting their own material when they hit the road later this month in the U.S. They kick off their touring March 13 in Minneapolis with a series of headlining shows before hooking up with The Struts for a handful of dates and also playing a number of festivals.
