Last year, a legendary horror film with ties to the Hudson Valley was finally released to the public after nearly a decade. The Poughkeepsie Tapes was supposed to hit theaters way back in 2008, but was pulled from the studio's release schedule and never managed to find a wide audience. Scream Factory finally released the film in 2017 on DVD and Blu-Ray, and now, Hudson Valley audiences have the chance to see it on the big screen.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes is being screened at the Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers on Thursday, January 25th, for one showing at 9:30 PM. The Drafthouse is screening the film as part of their Killer Tapes and Shattered Screens series, focusing on films with a relationship to video such as Clerks and The Ring.

The site notes that this is a rare theatrical screening of the film, and it will be introduced by author Caetlin Benson-Allot, who wrote the book "Killer Tapes and Shattered Screens," where the series gets its name. There are still a few tickets available, so if there are Hudson Valley horror fans who've been looking to see this for a long time, this is your chance.
