You might not be aware that one of the world's largest garden gnomes lives right here in the Hudson Valley.

Touted as the largest garden gnome in the Hudson Valley, this huge character was technically dethroned from the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010. But according to ExploringUpstate.com, it's only 1.5 feet shorter than the current record holder. The enormous lawn ornament is made entirely of concrete and towers over visitors year-round.

While locals are well aware of the gnome's presence in their community, there are many people throughout the rest of the Hudson Valley who may have never even heard of this incredible roadside attraction.

If you want to go searching for the gnome, he's pretty easy to find. Just head out on Route 209 between Accord and Kerhonkson in Ulster County. The big guy is pretty hard to miss, towering over the road in front of Kelder's Farm.

The farm is open to the public and includes mini golf that features a "tasting garden" where visitors can sample edible plants and vegetables that are growing throughout the course.

While he's not the largest gnome in the world anymore, he may certainly be the most beloved. School groups and tour busses visit the farm for pick-your-own fruits and vegetables while greeting the huge lawn character.
