This is How Vending Machines Work

If you're anything like me, you're a sucker for vending machines.

I mean, I know I'm not entirely alone, because here's the great late comedian Mitch Hedberg talking about his love and fascination with vending machines:

But even if you use them a lot, unless you actually work with them or fix them or fill them or whatever, they remain a mystery. They're just giant robot boxes that spits Snickers bars and potato chips and soda at you. I guess I always just found that to be so great and magical that I never wanted to look behind the curtain or beyond the surface. But this video is kind of nuts.

I love how bizarrely dramatic the whole thing is--it really turns the mechanism of vending machines into something that seems like the entire fate of the free world hinges upon it. Check it out:
