Ah, the good ole days of rampant skanking and a brass section that just won't quit.

So, 1998. Lethal Weapon 4 (FOUR!) was killing it in the box office and Frasier was still killing it on TV.

HOWEVER! The best movie that year, in my not so humble opinion, was BASEketball. Slapstick comedy from beginning to end, ridiculous in every sense of the world. I still laugh my ass watching it, Matt Stone and Trey Parker were in their absolute glory, the sportscasters were completely inappropriate.

Yasmine Bleeth.

And maybe the greatest thing about the movie, the soundtrack.

I'm a ska fan. Reel Big Fish kinda caused that back in the day, and to hear them do a pseudo alternative classic like "Take On Me", well, it's just pure genius. It's happy, it's upbeat, and it sounds like the song was made to have a brass section.

So enjoy your ThrowBack Thursday!

But, who did it better?

(PS. The kid in the hospital bed played Frasier's son. BRINGING IT FULL CIRCLE!)
