From the depths of Jersey City, My Chemical Romance burst onto the national music scene in 2004 with their single, "I'm Not Okay". And burst they did.

Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge was an album for the ages. Half pop-punk, half emo, half pseudo-goth, it would eventually allow the band to release 3 singles from one album. Not even 40 minutes long, it would eventually be certified as gold in 6 countries and platinum in 3, including the US.

"I'm Not Okay" would eventually be certified Gold in the US on it's own.

Worldwide tours, shared billing with Fall Out Boy and 30 Seconds to Mars, millions of albums sold afterwards. While MCR might be on a hiatus right now, it all might not have happened at all if not for "I'm Not Okay".

And it spawned one of the weirdest cover songs I have ever heard.
