Recorded way back in 1994, "You Know You're Right" was released in 2002.

It still feels weird to say that out loud.

It was recorded less than 3 months before Kurt Cobain committed suicide, and had been locked up in lawsuits for the 8 years before it was released. FINALLY the song was put into print as the first song on the compilation album Nirvana.

OF COURSE it hit #1 on the Mainstream Rock and Alternative music charts almost overnight. It was also quite popular in Poland and Brazil. Just saying.

I still love this song. Maybe it's because it's the last little piece of genius Kurt left behind, maybe it's because it had been so long since we heard from him. Either way, 2002 was a good year for a bunch of reasons, this being one of them.
