Here's to a fantastically complicated band and their history!

Radiohead had released "Pablo Honey" in 1992, and the song "Creep" was a huge hit, eventually hitting #2 on the US alt music charts. We had to wait over 2 years before a new album from Thom Yorke and the boys would hit the streets.

"The Bends" dropped the single "High & Dry" in 1995, after they had released an extended EP with the single "My Iron Lung" on it, even though it was eventually released AGAIN on "The Bends" a year later.

Ok.

Radiohead would release 4 singles off of "The Bends" over the course of 2 years. "Street Spirit" was the last of these singles and was the only one not to place on the US alt music charts. First off, that's a lot of singles, and an awful long time to work one album. Second, "Street Spirit" is freaking awesome and deserved a lot better.

It was the last track on the album and it actually felt like it was the perfect song to close it out. That was back when albums were ALBUMS, and were experienced beginning to end.

It's one of my absolute favorite Radiohead songs, and we should all take a minute to soak it in.
