2005 was over a decade ago. A DECADE. Things happened in that year! So much! And it was over a decade ago!

I actually remember being on the air the first time I heard this song, and I remember stopping what I was doing to drink it all in.

Unwritten Law had come onto the scene in a big way in 2002 with their song "Seein' Red". It hit #1 on the Alternative charts in America, and is still considered a cornerstone on a lot of alternative radio stations around the county. That was actually the 3rd single off that album, and the band immediately toured and went back into the studio following that single.

2005 rolled around and Unwritten Law dropped their new album "Music in High Places", and the single "Rest of my Life" which hit #5 on the alternative charts. I actually thought it was Goldfinger when I heard it. And I like Goldfinger, so I was good with that.

Their second single was "She Says", and it was IMMEDIATELY different. It opened with the acoustic guitar strumming, and segued into the lead singer. The bass dropped in, and the chorus THUMPED you when it rolled around, Scott yelling the whole war through, and then dropping off again at the end.

It's such a fun damn song! You can yell happily along in your car, and dance the rest of the time. The contrast of the acoustic guitar and the vocals is so perfect from verse to chorus and back again. "She Says" only hit #32 on the alternative charts, but it'll always be my favorite song off the album.
