Top 5 Albums Of 2014
With the impending demise of 2014, it's time to take a look at the top Alternative albums of the year.
What albums did I forget to add to the list?
Which bands have albums you're looking forward to in 2015?
The Hunting Party is the sixth studio album from Linkin Park and was produced by band members Mike Shinoda and Brad Delson. The album saw the band return to it's rock roots after experimenting with electronic influences on their previous 2 releases. The album was release in June 13th.
Turn Blue is the 8th studio album released by rock duo The Black Keys. Danger Mouse was back on board as producer of the album after working with the band on several of their most recent albums. The album was their first since 2011's El Camino and featured the hits "Fever" and "Gotta Get Away". The album was released on May 12th.
Jack White released his 2nd solo album Lazaretto on June 10th of this year on his own Third Man Records imprint. The album was at least partly inspired by a collection of poems and short stories Jack wrote when he was just 19. The album debuted in the #1 position on the Billboard chart.
Royal Blood burst onto the scene in a big way in 2014 with their self titled debut album. They band is a duo and are a British import. Expect big things from this band in 2015. The album was released on August 22nd of this year.
It's hard to deny the Foo Fighters the #1 position on the list based on a few factors. First of all, from top to bottom Sonic Highways is as good an album as they've ever released, if not better. A lot of bands run out of ideas by the time their 8th studio album rolls out, but not the Foo Fighters. Having come up with the idea to record a song in each city, and have and HBO film crew follow them around while they're at it. The album was just released on November 10th but we'll be hearing singles off the album for a majority of 2015.
