When you're a WRRV DJ, you end up spending a lot of time at The Chance in Poughkeepsie. We're lucky to have such a great local venue that consistently gets quality bands. Not to mention, keeps the local scene alive. Let's take a look at this years top 5 concerts at The Chance (so far). And don't forget to check out new WRRV artist "Bear Hands" at The Loft on 11/15.

    Days of the New

    7/26/14

On July 26th, the original line up of Days of the New returned to The Chance for the first time in many years. I had a chance to hang backstage with the guys and got a good vibe for their future. The band sounds great and Travis is still a great front man.

    Theory Of A Deadman

    5/8/14

Theory of a Deadman had just finished working on their new album Savages and wanted to get out there and play new music for the fans. While this show was booked somewhat last minute, the band always delivers when they play The Chance.

    Taking Back Sunday

    4/10/14

Taking Back Sunday is from Long Island, and whenever they play Poughkeepsie the Hudson Valley comes out and shows their support. This was another sold out show, and the band was kind enough to stop by the station for a WRRV Atrium Acoustic performance beforehand.

    Fuel

    4/4/14

Fuel were on tour in support of their first new album in many years, Puppet Strings. Poughkeepsie came out in force for this show. The band ripped through a bunch of classics and treated fans to a bunch of new material as well.

    A.F.I.

    1/29/14

A.F.I. sold out The Chance show in near record time. The closest date on this tour was Baltimore, so tickets were in demand. A.F.I. were also the very first band to perform acoustic in the WRRV Atrium. By far the best show of the year at The Chance (so far).
