Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois has issued a traffic advisory for the area surrounding Stewart Airport this weekend. The New York Air Show will be taking place and thousands of spectators are expected to flock to the area. The show will feature the legendary Blue Angels, formerly known as the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron.

Local motorists can expect road closures between 2:30 and 4:30 in the area and that includes no parking along Route 17K in the Town of Newburgh near the airport according to a Facebook post on the Sheriff's page.

Many of the planes taking part in the show arrived earlier in the week and Friday many were spotted all over the Hudson Valley getting their practice flights in.

Gates open at 9 AM and the event features vendors, simulations and a kids zone in addition to the flight show itself. There are still general admission tickets available for both Friday and Saturday but some options have sold out.
