The New York State Police (NYSP) executed a traffic stop in Mechanicstown on Sunday for unspecified vehicle and traffic violations according to a statement by the NYSP.

While interviewing the 19-year-old Middletown resident Chayne Price, the driver, troopers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. As a result, the car and its three occupants were searched.

During the search, Troopers found a loaded .357 revolver and a large quantity of marijuana. The driver was arrested along with his two passengers from Spring Valley: 19-year-old Keimoni Spinks and 25-year-old Timothy Brown.

The troopers allege that none of the detainees possess a valid permit for the gun and charged all three with felony criminal possession of a weapon. Price was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and various vehicle and traffic violations.

The men were arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court on the charges and remanded to Orange County Jail. Bail for Priec and Spinks was set at $50,000 cash or $75,000 bond.  Brown was denied bail.
