The dog found dead in a plastic bag off Newburgh last week was alive when it was thrown into the Hudson River. Water was found in the pit bull's lungs, which means it was alive. The  Hudson Valley SPCA is investigating the case, Time Warner Cable reports.

It's so hard to believe that there is this kind of evil in the world, but sadly there are acts of cruelty happening every minute of every day.

Many have donated close to $4,000 in reward money for information leading to an arrest in this crime. Contact the Hudson Valley SPCA if you can help.
