If you're looking for turkey-cooking tips this Thanksgiving, the Butterball Hotline is available again this year. The Butterball hotline started in 1980 with just five women. The hotline is available to anyone who has any turkey-related questions or emergencies.

The one thing that surprises people the most? How long it actually takes to thaw a frozen turkey. It takes, on average, 24 hours in your refrigerator for every four pounds. You can do the short cut method of a cold water bath and that take approximately takes 30 minutes per pound.

Not sure when the turkey is done? It helps to have a meat thermometer. Here is what temps to look for to know that it's done, 180-degrees in deep thigh muscles, 170-degrees in the breast and 165-degrees in the stuffing. The hotline is still available at 1-800-288-8372, and it's also online at Butterball.com or on Facebook and Twitter with live chats, how-to videos and tutorials on cooking turkey.
