Twinkies and Palmer Chocolate Candies Recalled Due to Health Concerns

I don't know about your house after the holidays, but at mine we always have candies and other holiday sweets tucked away in the goody drawer, just in case.  If you also have any chocolate candies left over from the holidays, or possibly the special holiday Twinkies, please read this before you, or anyone in your family, eats them.

According to the FDA, Hostess is voluntarily recalling packages of their limited-edition Holiday White Peppermint Twinkies because the candy coating contains milk powder that has been recalled due to a concern of salmonella contamination. As of this writing, there haven't been any reports of illnesses, but they know this nothing to mess around with.

The recall involves only the White Peppermint Twinkies sold in multi-pack boxes, which were sold a variety of retail stores throughout the country. If you purchased any of these, you are urged to stop eating them and return them for a full refund.

Some Palmer chocolate holiday candies are also being recalled because they also use the same milk powder as Hostess, which is being recalled by Valley Milk Products for fear of salmonella contamination. These candies were produced between October 20, 2016 and December 9, 2016 and while there's too many candies involved to include here, here's the complete list.

There are no illnesses to report with these candies, but the company isn't taking any chances. Consumers are also being urged to stop eating these and return them for a full refund.
