Two from Ulster County and one from Dutchess County were arrested after they allegedly sold drugs to undercover cops.

Since the start of 2016, the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (URGENT) has been investigating heroin sales in the Town of Lloyd.

Authorities say undercover cops purchased heroin and marijuana from Joshua C. Peterson, 23 and Francesca M. Marrero, 30, both of Highland.

A third person 27-year-old Alastair F. Dossantos, of Poughkeepsie, was allegedly observed selling heroin to Marrero.

Tuesday afternoon Peterson and Marrero were arrested at their residence in Highland immediately following a narcotics transaction. Dossantos was arrested in his vehicle on Route 9W, a short distance from the residence in Highland.

Police say they found more heroin, packaging materials, and dilutants while taking Peterson into custody.

Peterson was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, felonies, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor

Marrero was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, felonies, and misdemeanors for criminal possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.

Dossanto was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, felonies,.

All three were arraigned in the Town of Lloyd Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail, each in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond, to return at a later time.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be filed. URGENT was assisted at the time of arrest by uniformed members of the Town of Lloyd Police.
