The Hudson Valley has a lot to offer in terms of higher education, with numerous well known colleges in the area. Two have been recognized by Forbes as being among the best in the country. 



Vassar College in Poughkeepsie is the 2nd Hudson Valley College to be included on the list in the number 26 position nationally. Vassar is another historic College, founded in the 1800s as an all girls school. Men were allowed to attend beginning in 1969. While it's expensive, the student to teacher rate is very low and the campus sits on 1,000 beautiful acres in Poughkeepsie.

Forbes uses a variety of factors to help determine the quality of the school including student satisfaction, post-graduate success, graduation weight and more. In all 12 factors are used in determining where each school falls on the list.
