U2 have released a live-action video for new track “You’re the Best Thing About Me.” You can watch the clip above.

This is the lead single from U2's long-awaited Songs of Experience, which is expected to arrive Dec. 1 in CD, vinyl and digital formats. The video was shot entirely in New York City.

This follow-up to 2014’s Songs of Innocence was actually completed last year, but U2 felt it was essential to revisit the work when they realized how much had changed around them during production. For instance, the Edge said in January that the election of President Donald Trump was a major influence.

“We just went, ‘Hold on a second. We’ve got to think about this record and how it relates to what’s going on in the world,’” he said. “Most of it was written in the early part of 2016, and now, as I think you’d agree, the world is a different place.”

Bono agreed earlier this month, saying: “There’s a couple of reasons why we delayed Songs of Experience. We nearly lost the European Union, something that has helped keep the peace in our region for nearly 70 years.”

Admitting he’d made a direct reference to Trump, Bono added: “It is a little bit of a departure, as I’ve always believed in working across the aisle as an anti-poverty activist. But this isn’t a matter or right or left. There’s a bully in the pulpit, and silence is not an option.”
