Do you live in Ulster County and are looking to get a pistol permit? Are you aware that you need to take a safety course prior to applying for your permit? The Phoenicia Fish and Game Association holds the required safety class on the second Thursday of each month. The next class will be held on Thursday May 12, 2016 from 5PM-9PM. The cost of the class is free.

This class will meet the safety class requirement, it is a non-shooting class, that will be held indoors. In the class you will learn about safe handgun handling, the different types of handguns, their ammunition, the different ammunition components, along with how to load and unload a handguns.

For those who have questions, there will also be a complete review of Ulster County Pistol Permit Application and the process. At the end of the class, a course completion certificate will be issued to show that you have satisfied the safety class requirement. This certificate will need to be submitted with your pistol permit application.
