Police from Ulster County say a man resisted arrested, fought authorities, and damaged a police car.

Tuesday, Saugerties Police responded to a home located on Ripley Street in Saugerties. Police say an investigation led to the arrest of 32-year-old Jesse M. Decker for 2nd-degree harassment.

Decker was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and released on his own recognizance with a return court date of June 20. The court issued an Order of Protection on behalf of the victim and further ordered that a firearm owned by Decker be surrendered to police.

Wednesday, while conducting the court ordered weapon seizure, Decker allegedly became physically hostile towards officers causing damage to a Saugerties Police Car.

Police say Decker continued to fight with authorities as they were attempting to take Decker into custody. Decker was eventually taken into custody with no injuries sustained by either Decker or the officers.

Decker was charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
