An Ulster County man is in jail without bail for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old over a two year period.

Jeffery C. Brown was charged with 1st-degree course of sexual conduct of a child, a class b violent felony.

Thursday, the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office Family and Child Advocacy Center began an investigation into alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old from the Village of Saugerties.

The investigation revealed that Brown engaged the victim in a 2 year course of sexual conduct, officials say.

Brown was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on no bail. An Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.

The Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, Family and Child Advocacy Center, comprised of Investigators from the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, was assisted by members of the Town of Saugerties Police Department.
