A friendly reminder not to drink and drive.

The Ulster County Sheriff Paul VanBlarcum has announced that the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office will participate in a special enforcement effort to “crackdown” on impaired driving.

The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts start on August 21st and will end on September 7th, 2015.

Labor Day week is historically a deadly period for impaired driving. Multiple events and celebrations lead to more motorists on streets, roads and highways in general and, consequently, more impaired drivers.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, State Police and municipal law enforcement agencies will be out in force in a coordinated effort to reduce the number of alcohol related injuries and deaths during this period.
