Underage Drinking Sting in Columbia County

The New York State Police have released information about another underage drinking sting that took place in Columbia County.

The sting took place across Columbia County on Thursday, Sept. 15 and resulted in four establishments selling alcohol to a minor.

Stores were visited by an person under the age of 21 that was working with police, the minor attempted to buy alcohol at numerous locations with the following establishments charged with selling alcohol to an individual under twenty one years of age:

Xtra Mart #10129, 3355 Rt 9, Valatie
Cobble Pond Farms Sunoco, 1002 Rt 9, Valatie
New Lebanon EZ Mart, 492 Rt 20, New Lebanon
Canaan Corner Deli, 13366 Rt 22, Canaan, NY

Each of these stores were charged with Promoting Sale of Alcohol To a Minor and issued Appearance Tickets returnable at a later date.

The following stores did not sell alcohol to a minor:

Stewarts Shop #168, 479 Rt 20, New Lebanon
Thruway Beverage III, 501 Rt 20, New Lebanon
US Petroleum/Gettymart, 1012 Rt 82, Ancram
Xtra Mart, 601 Rt 295, East Chatham, NY
