Compared to last year and previous month, the Hudson Valley saw jobless rates from in October 2018.

Patch reports that unemployment rates in all 62 counties in New York State were lower in October 2018 than they were in October 2017. Specifically, in the Hudson Valley, rates were lower than the state average unemployment rate of 4.0%.

Ulster County dropped to an unemployment rate of 3.2%, according to Patch. That was lower than the October 2017 unemployment rate. Dutchess County had an unemployment rate in October 2018 of 3.1%. Orange County was at 3.3% for the October 2018 unemployment rate. Putnam County had a 3.1% unemployment rate in October 2018. Rockland County fell to a 3.2% unemployment rate. Westchester County had a 3.3% unemployment rate in October 2018. For all of these Hudson Valley counties, their October 2018 unemployment rate was lower than the October 2017 unemployment rate.

Compared to the previous month, the unemployment rates were also down. Dutchess County went from a 3.4% unemployment rate to 3.1%. Ulster County had a 3.4% unemployment rate in September 2018, in October 2018 they had a 3.2% rate. Putnam County went from 3.4% in September 2018 to 3.1% in October 2018. Orange County fell from 3.6% to 3.3% in one month. Rockland County dropped from 3.5% to 3.2%. Westchester County went from 3.5% to 3.3% between September 2018 and October 2018.
