USDA Issues Recall of Pizza Sold At Wal-Mart
The USDA has announced a recall for 21,000 pounds of frozen pizza. RBR Meat Company has issued the recalled its Marketside supreme frozen pizza because of possible Listeria contamination. This is a Class I recall from the USDA, which means it’s a health hazard and use of the product will cause sickness or death. This is the highest of the recall categories by the USDA, meaning the product is most likely contaminated.
The pizzas were sold at select Walmart stores, as “Market size Extra Large Supreme Pizza.” The 50.6-ounce box containing single shrink-wrapped 16-inch pizzas. The boxes are market with lot code 20547.
The listeria was discovered during routine sampling done by the FSIS. The recall urges people that purchased the product to throw it out or return to the place of purchase. There haven’t been any reports of illness due from this pizza. Only certain Walmart stores and distribution centers received these pizzas.
