Vanilla Ice Hates the New TMNT Song
The genius who had us all shouting "Go ninja, go ninja, go!" isn't a fan of the new Ninja Turtles theme song. Check it out in here.
According to an interview with GQ, Ice doesn't think that Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, and Juicy J have the right ninja magic. Or something.
With respect to all of the artists, the song doesn't really do it for me. It feels a little artificial—what I mean by that is that it sounds like a bunch of executives in the corporate world put it together. It really does not fit the theme of the Ninja Turtles legend. I think you have to understand, and be a true Ninja, to possess the Magic to really pull off the secret sound.
Wait, you mean to tell me the theme song to a movie that was designed to sell action figures of a bunch of crime-fighting turtles that eat pizza doesn't have integrity? You mean it doesn't have Leonard Cohen-esque poetic lyrics? Why I am, frankly, shellshocked.
Speaking of which, check out "Shellshocked," the TMNT theme song here:
