I loved Myst. It made my brain hurt, the puzzles were awesome. At times, it was freaky as hell. And for the time, the graphics just simply blew me away. It was a best selling video game, and for good reason.

Apparently Hulu is hoping that the story and allure of the video game are still there, because according to Deadline, they've acquired the rights to produce a show based on Myst, pending script approval. Thankfully, they've got some serious firepower behind the series.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I want it to work, but I'm not sure they can entirely contain the eminent creepiness that seeped out of Myst's pores. A lot of people even thought that Lost was somewhat based on the idea of Myst.

HOWEVER, the age of Myst is long since past. It was released 22 YEARS AGO. I just don't know if it's as relevant as it once was. I'm also not sure I would subscribe to Hulu to get the episodes.

But I sure hope they make it good enough to make me think about it.
