His name is not MacGyver but this guy from Queen's can thank his quick thinking and resourcefulness for saving not only his life, but also the life of his friends. Joseph Lehr was out on his 30-foot boat over the Memorial Day weekend with two of his friends. All of the sudden the boat started to sink (they had lost a drain plug), about 200 yards from the dock, and that is when his quick thinking took over.

Joseph noticed that the boat was taking on water and that the on board pump could not keep up with it. He then grabbed a cork from a vodka bottle (which was conveniently on board), jumped into the water and used that cork to plug the hole. The 'temporary repair' efforts bought the three enough time to hail an emergency crew to get them safely back to shore.

Does anyone want to ask the question about how much of that vodka had been consumed while they were out on the water? Or, how much vodka had to be sacrificed by using the cork?
