The Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie and Highland, NY is holding their annual race this June 11 & 12, 2016. The four races will take place over the course of two days. The races include a marathon, half-marathon, 5K and a "Think Differently" dash that is a one-mile run for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.

According to the Walkway marathon website, dogs are not allowed the day of the race, nor are strollers, bikes and roller-blades. Headphone use is also strongly discouraged.

The Walkway marathon was first held last year and filled up by the day of the event. Registration prices through March 31 are $65 for the marathon, $50 for the half-marathon, and $25 for the 5K. Registration from April through the day before the event are $75 for the marathon, $60 for the half-marathon and $35 for the 5K.

The full marathon course starts at Marist and goes the length of the Dutchess Rail Trail.
