Officials at the Walkway Over The Hudson organization are submitting their documentation to the Guinness Book of World Records to see if they set a new record.
But it might not be for what you think.More than a thousand volunteers are hoping their handshaking relay from Dutchess to Ulster County yesterday was large enough to break the previous record.  The handshaking effort is also meant to serve as a symbolic gesture of Walkway's commitment at bridging communities. If you didn't make it to the Walkway Sunday, you also missed out on another record that they were trying to break. This one involved bubble wrap. Get your minds out of the gutter. This is a family  event. http://bit.ly/1kEL0OF The Walkway team will find out this week if the record, for either record, was broken.
