The Hudson Valley is home to so many talented artists and whether you work in oils, watercolors, acrylics, pencils, or use a camera, you could have your work featured on next year's New York State Arbor Day Poster.

According to the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, Arbor Day is a celebration that highlights the importance of trees to our communities, economy, and even our health.

The Arbor Day Planning Committee, made up of representatives from the DEC, Empire Forest Foundation, NYS Arborist Association, NYS Nursery and Landscape Association, among others,  is currently accepting submissions of original art and photography from now until December 30, 2016.

Imagine your artwork as the official 2017 New York State Arbor Day poster in schools, government buildings, libraries, nursery and landscaping business, and environmental organizations throughout the state. Plus, you be honored and recognized at the annual Arbor Day celebration.

Submission details include that it must be your original artwork and only photos taken in New York State will be accepted. For complete rules and applications, click here. Good luck!
