A man who was wanted for allegedly selling heroin in the Hudson Valley was arrested after a standoff with police.

On Friday, members of URGENT, Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team, arrested 34-year-old Ryan C. Coppola of Plattekill following an investigation into heroin sales in the Town of Plattekill and surrounding areas.

Authorities developed information that Coppola was at his girlfriend’s grandmother’s home in the Town of New Windsor.

After a brief standoff with police he surrendered and was subsequently arrested on a warrant of arrest issued by the Town of Plattekill Justice Court, police say.

He was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Hurley Justice Court and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail with no bail.
