Wilco appeared on last night’s (Feb. 4) Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform “Random Name Generator” from last year’s Star Wars, but frontman Jeff Tweedy hung around to tuck the late-night host into bed before the credits rolled.

From under some airplane and automobile bedcovers, Colbert asked his guest, “Jeff Tweedy, it’s 12:30, would you mind playing us a lullaby?”

Tweedy then -- occasionally stifling laughter and showing off his whistling skills -- pulls out a sweet little ditty that would give anyone the best of dreams. Tweedy's tune is notably less terrifying than the lullaby Father John Misty penned for Colbert (which was ultimately cut for time). Wilco surprise-released Star Wars in July of last year. The band is currently on tour, which will pick up tonight with a two-night stand in Brooklyn. They have more U.S. stops planned through the summer, culminating with a headlining spot at this year’s Mountain Jam (June 2-5).
