Grocery store chain Wegmans, based in Rochester NY, says not so fast Facebook. Wegmans released a statement on 2/1/16 to let customers know that they might have been scammed.

The issue involves a Facebook post that allegedly offers consumers giveaway that involves a $200 in free grocery's coupon. According to a press release at Wegmans.com, the grocery chain says that this giveaway is neither affiliated with nor supported by Wegmans.

Wegmans is encouraging customers to not click on the ad, nor to share any of their personal information with a third party. In fact, Jo Natale, Wegmans vice president of media relations, said,

“We’re actively working to have this fraudulent post removed from Facebook. We urge consumers not to click it, share it, or provide any personal information.”

If you could choose a Hudson Valley grocery store to get $200 in free groceries, which store would it be?
