Look, I unabashedly love weird things. I don't really try to do so, my brain is just wired in an incredibly bizarre way, but if I like something a lot, there's a chance that other people are going to find that same thing strange, "out there," even off-putting. It genuinely doesn't dawn on me that the weird stuff I like is even weird. I mean, my favorite director is Harmony Korine (writer of KIDS, director/writer of Gummo and Spring Breakers) and it's not even in an ironic, look-at-me-being-contrarian way. I actually like it.

So, pair this with my love of the band Joy Division, and you'll understand why I was completely transfixed by this video upon finding it.

The Teletubbies are and were a surreal, absolutely incomprehensible cast of characters. I have no idea what anyone intended to create when they made those things up, and there's no way that helped children to learn anything at all other than how to mimic the weird creatures' voices.

Why not make their ultra-colorful world into a calm, arguably bleak black-and-white one and lay some Joy Division over it, right? Okay, so maybe that's not the first thought you had, but it was to some guy who did just that and made this YouTube magic:
