West Point Drummer Injured by Ax Thrown by News Anchor [VIDEO]

A West Point drummer was injured after he was hit by an ax that was being thrown by a Fox and Friends anchor in a lumberjack type segment.

In the video below Fox anchor, Pete Hegseth, is seen throwing the ax missing the target altogether and the ax goes flying over and winds up hitting West Point drummer, Jim Prosperie.

The drummer suffered only minor injuries to his left arm, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Prosperie took to Facebook to assure friends and family that he was doing fine:

I am thankful to God that the double sided blade only hit broadside on the outer elbow with significant impact and a couple of cuts as it fell along my wrist. It could have been much worse or fatal. Focusing on full physical and emotional recovery.

The West Point drummers were on hand for the segment to celebrate the Army's 240th birthday and Flag Day. Prosperie went on to say on Facebook that the ax throwing came as a surprise:

"My leadership told me they were told there would be no axe [sic] throwing. I think the anchor person went rogue and decided to throw it. He had only thrown it once before in practice for an upcoming segment and they told him to throw it with more force."
